Las Vegas Starbucks Closings In Perspective

The media will no doubt make much hay over this morning’s announcement that Starbucks is closing 13 Las Vegas stores, more than any other city. Here’s some perspective:

The reason Starbucks is closing that many stores is that they’ve built so many stores. Guess how many Starbucks there are in Las Vegas…..

Starbucks is weeding out the worst-performing 7%. In the business world, we call that “improving productivity by focusing on execution”.

Think about how vibrant a place this must be to support 150+ Starbucks!

    I wrote about this today too. I have to agree. There are simply weeding things out as necessary. I had no idea Las Vegas had that many Starbucks. Wow!

    I used to live in Oregon where there are almost more specialty coffee houses than the rest of the states, combined.
